Durga Puja is a famous Hindu festival when Goddess Durga is worshipped. Durga Puja is also known as Durgotsava. Shardiya Durgotsava or Shardiya Durga Puja refers to last five days of Shardiya Navratri festivity and these five days are observed as Durga Shashthi, Maha Saptami, Maha Ashtami, Maha Navami and Vijayadashami.

Durga Puja 2025 is going to be grander than ever, with the number of people celebrating this spectacle increasing each year. In fact, people join this Durga Puja festival from various parts of the world.  Durga Puja is prominently celebrated in the Indian states of West Bengal, Tripura, Odisha, Jharkhand, Bihar and eastern Uttar Pradesh.

The Goddess Durga arrives on the Earth on the first day of Devi Paksha which starts on the next day of Mahalaya (Amavasya) during Pitra Paksha. Durga Puja 2025 will officially start on the sixth day (Shashti), which is September 28, 2025. It then proceeds with important ceremonies and festivities until ending on the tenth day with Durga Visarjan, which is the immersion of the idol, which is on October 2, 2025.
